J1 TWENTY SIXTEEN
During the summer of 2016, myself and a group of friends travelled to USA and took part
in a work and travel scheme called J1. This publication is a photo album of our experiences.

A J1 visa is a great way to travel and experience other cultures. The only inconvenience
we faced, was the vast amount of legal documents to be collected, signed and filed
(both before and throughout our travels). All typographic elements in this book have been
inspired by these documents, which include T&C forms, tickets, passports and receipts.

The photographs present in the book have been taken by 3 cameras:
Canon AE-1 (Expired film)
Canon G7X Mark 2 (Digital)
Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 (Polaroid)

The colours of the book have been enhanced to bring the publication to life.
However, the photographs themselves have not been altered in any way.
Effects seen in the photographs taken by Canon AE-1 have been caused by expired film.
